DURABLE OUTDOOR COATINGS
Patio And Porch Coatings in Colorado
For patios and porches, our most popular outdoor application is a quartz coating system that utilizes our polyaspartic coating. It offers a subtle, consistent appearance and comes in a variety of popular color options.
Another reason it is ideal for patios, porches and other outdoor applications is that it has a sandpaper-like texture, which offers great traction. As a note, even with coarse traction additives like silica and quartz, sealed concrete can still be slippery when wet under certain conditions. Our flake systems are certainly an option for these spaces, too.
Our quartz and flake applications require mechanical preparation of the concrete, such as diamond grinding or shot-blasting. Even if you have an existing coating (paint or stain, etc), we can remove it so that we can ensure great adhesion for our new coating system.

OUTDOOR COATINGS
Patio and Porch Coating Application
In addition to our popular polyaspartic applications, we can apply sealers to patio and porch concrete that will help prevent salt-attack and reduce or eliminate efflorescence. Typically, you see salt attack in the form of scaling and it can cause pits and the top surface of the concrete to become crumbly. Where does the salt come from? In Colorado, it comes in the form of de-icing salts (magnesium chloride) that are used on the roads. Once the snow and ice drop and melt off your vehicle tires and wheel wells, the concrete becomes exposed to salts that will degrade the concrete over time. | Stain and dye applications are certainly viable options for these areas as well. Stains and dyes can add some natural-looking color and variation to your concrete and are great options to enhance the concrete floors in an economical way. A consultation is typically the best route to go to help determine if your patio and porch concrete is suitable for any of our applications, so please contact us if you’d like to schedule a free estimate! |
