Mile High Coatings is proud to showcase this three-car garage in Fort Collins, located in the English Ranch subdivision. As can be seen in the image below this is a great example of a common garage floor that we see here in Northern Colorado.
The house is between 20-25 years old and the concrete floor has never had a coating applied to it. The garage did require some spot patching, likely due to de-icing salts that are commonly used in the winter on the roads.
Snow and ice will build up in the wheel wells of vehicles and then when it melts all over the floor, the salts that are picked up will slowly deteriorate the concrete and cause scaling. I’ve seen it happen in a matter of a year or two. I’ve also seen 20 year old concrete that has held up very well against it.
In this particular case, we used a 1/4″ flake, the color blend is Copper Mountain. After patching and diamond grinding the concrete floor, we applied our industrial-grade epoxy system with a clear polyaspartic over the flakes. This particular floor took approximately a day and a half. Within 48 hours of completion, the customer was able to park on their garage floor. Because we take the time to do it right and only use the best materials, Mile High Coatings gives our customers a 10-year warranty for projects like this. And with typical garage homeowner use, we would generally expect it to last much longer!
